Product description Sourced from a small, north-facing block in Te Kano’s Northburn vineyard. This wine is made exclusively from Cabernet Franc, Clones 214 and 328, producing low yields of concentrated, perfectly ripe fruit. Hand-harvested and fully destemmed, the fruit underwent a cold soak before a short, hot fermentation. The wine was then pressed to neutral, older oak barrels for maturation. Vibrant and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and liquorice. The palate is layered with dried herb, raspberry and spice. Lively acidity and fine, crunchy tannins frame a core of bright, juicy fruit. Country New Zealand Region Central Otago Colour/Style Red Grape Varieties Cabernet Franc ABV 13% Eco Vegan, Vegetarian Awards Graphite, blackberry and black cherry aromas. A lovely wine that’s very aromatic in a way. Have it with a roast leg of lamb? Yes, please. Freddy Bulmer: Pretty floral aromas with lavender, plum and pepper. The palate is driven by violet, lavender and liquorice, alongside punchy blackcurrant and star anise. Intense and generous. Roger Jones: Violet and damson with inky, savoury notes. Herbaceous with a silky feel and a mid-palate full of bright fruit. The finish is good with great focus. I would like to see this in a few years time. - 96 pts Christine Marsiglio MW - Decanter Panel Tasting
